Meet Your SLP
I'm Tamara, a pediatric speech-language pathologist. I help toddlers, preschoolers, and early elementary-aged children build the speech, language, and social communication skills they need to connect, learn, and thrive.
My Background
My passion for working with children began long before becoming a speech-language pathologist. At age 15, I began working with children at the Bank Street College of Education Family Center. I later studied Human Development and Family Studies at Cornell University and completed my bachelor's degree in Developmental Psychology at Hunter College while continuing to work in early childhood education.
Years later, after earning a Master's degree in Educational Research from the University of Oxford, I worked as a co-teacher at The Little School, a relationship-based and inclusive preschool in San Francisco. These experiences shaped my developmentally grounded, play-based approach to supporting young children and families.
I later earned a Master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Idaho State University and became a speech-language pathologist.
My professional experience spans Early Steps, private practice, and school-based services. I have supported infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and early elementary-aged children with developmental delays, autism, language disorders, speech sound disorders, social communication challenges, and complex communication needs.
Today, I enjoy combining research, clinical experience, and parent coaching to help families build communication skills through everyday routines, play, and connection.
